About Us
Early childhood is a unique and invaluable stage of life. We believe that play and positive early interactions are extremely important and provide the solid foundations for later life and learning. All children are treated with equal respect and valued as individuals, capable of achieving their full potential. We aim to extend on their home experiences and provide environments where they can make their own choices, be involved in the decision making, take on new challenges, find out about themselves, other people and the world around them.

Parents are the most important people in their child's life. Continuity in the care they receive at home and the centre helps children develop security, trust, and a general sense of identity and wellbeing. Positive relationships between families and staff are formed by good communication, sharing knowledge, experience and decision-making. Families are invited to share in, contribute
to, and feel part of their child's experiences at Nans. As well as encouraging families' interests and involvement we provide caring support, acknowledging uniqueness, cultures, language and beliefs in assisting families to develop a sense of belonging to our centre. Confidentiality is maintained between staff and families.

The centre implements a child-centred approach that uses detailed ongoing observational records, planning and evaluation. Children learn through concrete hands on experiences and active involvement with the children and adults in the environment. We emphasize one to one and small group experiences. Routines and transitions are a main part of the day and hence are utilised as vital opportunities for play and learning.
The program is flexible to incorporate spontaneous events that occur often. We feel that it is important to see the child as a whole and to develop all aspects of the child- physical, emotional, social, creative, cognitive, self-help and language skills.
