Gumnut preschool operates formally for four days a week
(Monday to Thursday), and on the fifth day (Friday) we visit the Centre library and do Top to Toes. Our program runs within the school terms, and a more relaxed schedule takes place in the school holidays.
Each Preschooler will need a bag packed with a change of clothes, including sun hat (with flaps over neck and ears). They will also need a library bag and will be able to borrow
two books from Nans' library each week.
Our message book is with the sign-in book. If, for instance, someone different is going to pick up your child or you have an appointment during the day, please write it in this book, and also let Christy or one of the other preschool staff know.
The preschool year is an exciting time for excursions and we have many throughout the year. Notices will be posted on the preschool door for you to sign - so don't forget to
check on a regular basis.
We will also have many information sheets up on our walls: our Program is on the notice board, the preschool routine, fire evacuation and accident procedure, and our behaviour management plan is also on display for your perusal.
At preschool we welcome parental participation (eg. on excursions, craft sessions, music, etc) and if have any special talents or skills that you would like to share with us, we will appreciate your expertise.
We hope you and your child will have a rewarding preschool experience and we look froward to being a part of their development in the coming year.
